No-poo venture
On September 1st I decided to start my “no poo” venture. Over the past year I have noticed my hair feeling extremely dry, almost straw like. I realise the damage had been caused by the bi-monthly attempts to over the greys that had started to emerge like unwanted weeds among a beautiful David Austin English rose garden. Unfortunately my attempts to get rid of the ‘weeds’ had catastrophically effects on my prize David Austin roses I had been growing for so long, who are literally a part of me 😉 So, like any good gardener I decided to embrace my weeds! Well kinda..
I started looking for natural alternatives for hair colour dying and found a number of articles making reference to (successfully) having used ground coffee. I adopted this new method with open arms, this was like sunshine to my now, wilted roses. If only hair could talk would we still put it though so much torture? Chemicals, products, heat….
I havent been using this new found method for long enough to confirm its usefulness. I can however confirm that it somehow allowed me to not have to wash my hair every day as it somehow absorbed the excess oil in my hair. And so began my “no poo’ venture…
I have now also adopted the baking soda and apple cider vinegar that seems to be spoken of having quite some success…
Nevertheless, my David Austin rose garden is happy to be free of chemicals and no vicious cycle of silicon build up…
Here’s to less chemical in my life!!
Is mos!? ♥
